Lopez. 2 November 2006
Here's a juicy
snippet from UK gossip magazine HELLO!:
"Everywhere he goes, Michael causes women to
swoon. But romantically at least, the boyishly
handsome star is settling down. Recently his new
girlfriend, English actress Emily Blunt (The
Devil Wears Prada), moved into his loft in
east-end Vancouver and Michael has been
introducing her to all his favorite spots. 'The
first thing I did was take her to Burnaby
Mountain and we sat and looked at the stars and
made out, just like I did when I was 16,' he
says backstage at River Rock. 'We've been to
Whistler, and bought a Vespa. Every day, we
drive around Stanley Park a couple of times. She
loves it here.'
"This month, Michael returns to the studio with
David [Foster] to make his fourth album, which
he promises will have a mix of standards, pop
tunes and a couple of originals. 'I want to show
a little more growth,' he says, 'but not
[alienate] the 12 million people who have
supported my music so far. I have some really
cool ideas for it.'" 1 November 2006
From
the pages of the Joslyn Art Museum
website in Omaha, Nebraska :
75th Anniversary Gala Concert
"Joslyn Art Museum opened to the public in
November of 1931 with great fanfare and a
special concert. This November, Joslyn
celebrates 75 years of achievement and
inspiration in the same grand spirit.
"On Saturday, November 11, the Museum will host
a gala celebration commemorating the 75th
anniversary. The evening will feature a
spectacular entertainment event — a very special
concert by producer/songwriter David Foster.
Foster will be joined by internationally
acclaimed big band singer Michael Bublé and
all-time great soul singer Gladys Knight."
Wow! What a fabulous reason to visit Nebraska if
you haven't been there before (and even if you
have!) 27 October 2006 Michael
enthralled the audience at a 'Fries and Wine'
Charity Auction sponsored by the Los Angeles
chapter of Ronald McDonald House.
Michael was at his most sublime (can you imagine
him being anything but?) and had the audience
enthralled with 'Home', 'Come Fly With Me', 'The
Way You Look Tonight' and more.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Los Angeles
Ronald McDonald House.
(I wonder if he partook of any of his favorite
Quarter Pounders, hmmmmm?)
22 October 2006
Michael
has won another award; this time from the
Western Canadian Music Awards held in
Winnipeg last night. He won for

for Outstanding Pop Recording and folk quintet
The Bills for Entertainer of the Year.
Jann Arden supported Michael on the Australian
leg of his last world tour.
15 October 2006 Michael still calls
Burnaby home. Michael told BC's 'TV
Week', ""I love it here, man!
I considered moving to London because that's
where my girlfriend lives, but my manager Bruce
Allen said to me, "Why would you want to leave?
it's such a great place," and I realized he's
right." Michael said that he is heading back
to L.A. shortly to start work on his new album.
"It won't be out until May". "I want to get 13
good songs out of it".

Bennett also had plenty of praise for Michael
who he believes is trying to preserve and
sustain what Bennett has been doing all his
life.
"Michael Buble shows lots of promise," he said.
"I think he’s terrific. He was smart enough to
take a little of Dean Martin, a little Bobby
Darin, a little Sinatra and everyone, a little
Louis Prima, and put it all into his show. He
has the young people going nuts over him."

3 August 2006
Michael is wowing his audience right across the
US and the media just love him. Here are
excerpts from some of their reviews:
Pollstar.com,
in commenting on the current heat wave has this
to say:
"In
Central California, where heat reached record
highs, Michael Bublé played to a Fresno crowd
July 22 in a room that was estimated to be 100
degrees.
"The air-conditioning unit that cools the
2,300-capacity William Saroyan Theatre as well
as nearby Selland Arena failed prior to the
event. Outdoor temperature was estimated at 112
degrees. Patrons were given bottled water, but
many concert goers left before the show
finished.
"To his credit, Bublé did not refuse to perform
in such conditions and, although he told his
band members that they could remove their
jackets, he kept his on throughout the
performance."
The
Honolulu Advertiser said, "Bublé shines
in Hawaii debut". "Michael Bublé sells his act
by romancing his audience — all 6,500 of them at
Blaisdell Arena last night — collectively and
individually.
"The soulful and pouty persona that graces his
album covers has a rascally playful side in
personal performance that shines over the
orchestra seats and projects to the upper
balcony. And just to be sure he reaches
everyone, Bublé leaves the stage to mingle in
the cheap seats, risking a mob of fans — mostly
female — eager
for photographs, touches and hugs. "'I'm here
for you,' seems to be his genuine mantra."
The
Grand Rapids Press had this to say:
Luck's been a lady to Bublé, who's got the world
on a string.
Jann Arden, another Canadian native who is
touring the US with Bublé said "He's wonderful
on records, but in his live shows, people can't
believe it's real. You can see the energy sweep
through the crowd," said Arden, who also has
toured overseas with him (including his Aussie
tours). "I don't know whether to kiss him or
kill him," she said. "He's that good."
In
Madison, WI, the Bublé review opened
with:
"His seductive voice and effortless musicality
were as pleasing live as they are on his
recordings. Surprising, however, was the easy
listening star's rock-and-roll influence, grainy
humor and sharp charisma. He scattered moments
of air guitar, mild swearing
and flirtatious banter with the audience
throughout the two-hour show.
David
Farr from The Sturgess Review said:
"Michael Bublé had his audience at Van Andel
Arena last week “feeling good” with a nice mix
of charm, wit, style and impressive vocals,
which he so effortlessly showcased.
"His rendition of “You Don't Know Me” would make
even the late Charles proud. I knew I was
hearing something great when he did it.
"Only Redding himself could have done a better
job on “Try A Little Tenderness.” Bublé’s take
on the classic was stunning, as was his
interpretation of the Charlie Chaplin-penned
“Smile.”
The
only downer in all the news reports was that due
to illness, his show in Roanoke, VA had to be
canceled, but disappointed fans can line up to
watch the man at his best on August 17. 29
June 2006 Watch Michael at his luminous
best during an interview with Berlin TV host
Torgen during Michael's recent European concert
tour. It's Michael at his most mellow and
cool! You can view the 3 part series on
the
Michael Buble Music Videos page.
20 June 2006 'It's Time' remains at
No.1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts in its 70th
week on its 70th week in the charts! 19
June 2006 Michael's video 'Save The Last
Dance For Me' won the MuchMoreMusic video
award at the ceremony on Sunday night.
He was up against Bedouin Soundclash, Daniel
Powter, Feist and Sam Roberts. 16 June 2006
Legendary singer Tony Bennett will mark
his 80th Birthday on August 3 this year,
launching his much anticipated CD Tony
Bennett/Duets.
Recorded live in the studio, the CD features
Tony performing duets of his best loved songs
with many of the top names in music: Bono,
Michael Bublé, Elvis Costello, Dixie Chicks,
Juanes, Billy Joel, Diana Krall, k.d. lang, John
Legend, Paul McCartney, George Michael, Sting,
Barbra Streisand, James Taylor and Stevie
Wonder. Instrumental musical guests on the album
include trumpeter Chris Botti and violinist
Pinchas Zukerman.
Tony teams up with Michael to sing 'Just in
Time'. 12 June 2006 The biggest
news of the week is that Michael Bublé is going
to be the headliner at the David Foster and
Friends Charity Gala. A talent search is on
to find a rising star for the September gala.
Throughout July, the David Foster Star Search
2006 - an American Idol-style contest - will
host contests for regional finalists in various
cities throughout Canada. The contest winner
performs at Richmond's River Rock Casino on
September 10 with Michael Bublé, Howie Mandel
and other celebrities.
Foster was joined by his protege Bublé for a
teleconference following the announcement of the
talent quest. He suggested Bublé might want to
team up with the winner at the gala show to duet
on 'Quando Quando Quando'.
"Or I could even go out on a date with her,"
joked Bublé.
Michael also offered words of advice. "I would
choose a song with a great crescendo, something
that shows off your range, and something that
allows you to tell a story."
8 June 2006 On Friday July 28, Michael
will perform in Oahu at the Blaisdell
Arena, then at the Maui Arts & Cultural
Center on Saturday July 29. Tickets go on
sale on June 17. 7 June 2006
According to VH1.com, the episode of 'The
Ellen deGeneres Show' when Michael sang
'Save The Last Dance For Me' originally
recorded in January 2006 is to be replayed on
Oxygen (OXY) on Thursday 15 June. Check
your guide for details.
The website also has a full listing of TV
stations that are screening 'Totally Blonde'
(featuring MB as a jazz singer - what else?)
during June. Go to this page at
VH1.com for full details.

26 May 2006 Read our 'Bublé Bloke' Patrick's story - "One Night In
Paris". What a riot!
Read more... Our marvelous Bublé Babe Meike has translated the Stuttgart
concert review into English for us.
Read it here...
25 May 2006 At least 10 media articles
on Michael's performances in Germany are
listed in Yahoo! News today - problem is, I
can't understand any of them! I can only
assume from using the direct translation feature
that they obviously like him. With my humblest
apologies to our German visitors, you can get a
real hoot out of going to this web page relating
to his performance in Stuttgart:
http://www.merkur-online.de/dpa/infoline/boulevard/musik/art450,669405.html
and asking Google to do a translation for you.
Even the title has me stumped - "Michael Bublé
with route start cheers". Say what? '“If
their me again to have want, come I millions
times back”, promised Bublé of the jubilant
quantity' was Michael's quote, which I can only
assume means that he's happy to come back a
million times if they want him to. So, given I
can't imagine anyone saying a bad word about
Michael, and the general tone of the articles,
yes, he's having a fabulous time in Europe and
so are his audiences. Can you imagine it being
any other way?
21 May 2006 Michael thrilled his
audience in his first European concert
appearance in Luxembourg on Saturday night.
A news report called him a "beautiful charmer
with a gilded way and brilliant repertoire...he
has a natural talent for jazz, swing and pop
with his stylistic feeling and vocal expression.
He has filled the world with enthusiasm with his
voice and talent."
10 May 2006 I've just added what will
be the first in a collection of Bublé Babe
goodies to the website. You can have
Michael gaze up at you from a fabulous mouse pad
or collect your Official Bublé Babe key
tag to proudly display your status! Check
them out
here.
2 May 2006
Michael captivated his
audience at the Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto on
Monday night. Michael performed his full
stage show for the Mount Sinai Hospital
Auxiliary Gala audience. In previous
years, entertainers such as Diana Ross, Aretha
Franklin and Tom Jones have also performed at
the event.
(Thanks to Bublé Babe Jacqueline for letting me know about the event.)
7 April 2006 Michael was the big winner
at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, held
at the Living Arts Center, Mississauga, Ontario.
He took home 'Male Vocalist of the Year', 'Album
of the Year' and 'Socan Best Original
Composition" for 'Home'.
5 April 2006 Well, who knew?
Michael reportedly told eTalk Daily this
week that he and English actress girlfriend
Emily Blunt are living together in
Vancouver. She is in Canada making the
Clooney/Soderbergh film, Wind Chill, while he is
still on tour throughout the US, so how much
actual "togetherness' they're getting could be
open to conjecture. "Emily and I have been
together living in Vancouver for a few months.
We are taking it slowly but we are excited about
the future," Michael said. We wish them both
well.

3 April 2006 MICHAEL GRABS 4 JUNOS!
Michael
Bublé's smooth jazz-pop stylings dominated the
35th annual Juno Awards as the Vancouver
singer snapped up four major trophies,
including Artist of the Year. "Thank you to my
grandpa who introduced me to what I think is the
greatest music of all time," Bublé said Sunday
evening in Halifax after It's Time was named
Album of the Year. "This is the biggest thing
in the world to me. God bless you all. Thank you
Canada!" Earlier, Bublé's hit song Home
won Single of the Year and It's Time
took the Juno for Best Pop Album. "This
is a subjective business," Buble said backstage.
"It's not necessarily true that the best guy or
the best girl won tonight . . . but damn it,
this feels really good."

at the Junos.
30 March 2006
Bublé
will be a tough act to beat at Sunday's Juno
awards according to Canadian news sources.
Nominated for 5 Junos, his CD "It's Time"
was the country’s
top-selling CD last year by a Canadian artist.
He said in an interview
that his song "Home" has inspired many fans to
write him personal stories, including U.S.
troops fighting in Iraq.
‘‘It’s amazing that something I wrote that, for
me, was autobiographical means so much to so
many,’’ Bublé said during a conference call with
Canadian media earlier this week. Listen to a podcast with Michael where he
answers a range of questions from the Canadian
media. (Approx. 30 minutes).
‘‘I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a trip
almost every day to hear that it’s affected
people.’’
He
is said to be escorting his girlfriend,
English actress Emily Blunt (pictured here), to
the Award Ceremony on Sunday night.
